Good Morning!
Since I've been working 3rd shift I've seen my share of sunrises. If you would have asked me a year ago which I liked better, sunrises or sunsets, I would have said sunsets, no contest. Well now I'm gonna have to say without a doubt sunrises. There is just something special about sunrises or maybe it's just morning in general. The air is cool and crisp, the sky is dark blue and at the horizon there are shades of pink, purple, sometimes red or orange...i don't know how to even describe it, but it is awesome looking. Then when you are driving home, there aren't many vehicles out yet and there are little patches of fog and everything is wet from dew.
This is what my morning was like on Sunday morning after working a 12 hr shift. I took the back roads home so I wouldn't have to pay attention to the road as much and I could watch the sky...no i'm not the brightest crayon in the box but that's ok. Anyways, it was really pretty. Then I pass the church and I decided to stop and visit my grandparents grave. I'm really not one to stop and talk to the deceased but I had the urge. I didn't stay too long...I think it was one whole minute. After that I started to drive the rest of the way home...one whole mile. :) I was driving incredible slow for a few reasons.
1. I live down a stone road and try to drive slow if I have the time.
2. I was still admiring the sunrise.
3. I was looking for deer in the field b/c it seems like one or two deer always cross the road when i'm driving home early in the morning.
So I'm driving along and I look over to my right and I pass by two deer standing out in the half harvested corn field. I stopped the car put it in reverse and let it idle back. Oh yea, they were definately checking me out to see what the heck I was doing. But they didn't run. So I had my camera in the car so i snapped a picture of them. They just stood there and starred at me for awhile and went about their business like I wasn't even there. It was great! I love nature in the morning! Anyways that just got me thinking of how great God's creation is. Then I started thinking that this isn't even going to compare to what heaven is going to be like. That's exciting!
So anyway there is absolutely no point to this post except for me to tell anybody who cares that I like mornings and to waste time before I go into work.

Um. I haven't seen a sunrise in months.
well why not doug!
Wait...
so do you deer hunt in the middle of the day or what? I thought prime time for that was early in the morning.
Early season I don't hunt until the afternoon. It's easy for deer to spook on you during the morning hours early season.
I have to second you on liking sunrises better than sets. Just took some photos of a sunrise that turned out kind of cool ( http://www.pbase.com/efatapo/deercreek ).
wow i looked at those pictures, they are incredible!
Shannon: You should post the pics of the deer. ;)
well if i would have taken them with the digital camera i don't have then i probably would but since i don't have that digital camera...um yeah.
