March Madness

Oh my goodness! Where has the time gone?! Seriously, this last month flew by...but I'm not complaining b/c it's now officially summer! Booyah!

Some of you may be wondering what I've been up to lately. Well let me fill you in. The majority of my time was spent driving all over Northwest Ohio filling out and turning in job applications/ resumes. Seriously, I'm pretty much a pro at filling out an application...5 minutes tops. But for awhile I was getting a little discouraged b/c I wasn't hearing back from anyone and there didn't seem to be any open positions anywhere other than PRN (as needed/on call), which I'm not really interested in at the moment. But I decided to take a PRN position at Vancrest (the place I worked as a nurse aid) so I could at least start working and getting paid as a nurse. Well no sooner than I start training at Vancrest do I get a call from a long term healthcare facility in Defiance asking me to come in and interview for a full-time position on 3rd shift! FULL TIME! YEA! Well I went and interviewed at the beginning of this week and it went really well and last night I job shadowed to see if it was something I would like to do. I really do like it and I think I'm gonna like working the 3rd shift too. I haven't been officially hired yet, but it's looking promising. YAY! Look at me getting a full-time job with benefits and such! I feel so grown up! Weird. Anyways, that's the scoop on that.

Something else exciting happened this month. While I was up in Toledo filling out job applications, my new baby NIECE was born. Yeah that's right! Score one up for the girls! She was born on March 10th and she weighed a whopping 6lbs. 7oz. Just a little peanut! Her name is Hudsyn Michelle Schlatter. I have lots of pictures, so at some point I'll try to get one or two on here so you can see how precious she is. So now its Nieces-2, Nephews-5 (soon to be 6).

Also while I was up in Toledo that weekend I decided to give my friend Dan a call and we got to meet up for some coffee and ice cream. mmmm. And I have to mention that Dan is now a proud owner of a "Grow-a-Head". http://www.pbase.com/efatapo/image/75657437

Kristi, don't worry my dear I haven't forgotten about you. But I will admit that its a good sign that we need to hang out when I can't think of anything to blog about that concerns you. I'm not forgetting anything am I? I kind of feel bad about this...I'll make it up to you peeper! I promise!

Well I need to fill out my FASFA and finish my taxes so I'll see you all next time on the 'Shannon Schlatter Show' (I dare you to say that 5 times fast) :)

ALRIGHT, ALRIGHT! I'LL BLOG, I'LL BLOG! :)

If you didn't already know I took my state boards a couple weeks ago and I am officially a License Practical Nurse. Yes it's a relief to be done with school but I've decided to go back to school and get my associates RN. I am also planning on living in my mom and dad's basement for as long as possible. Right now I'm job searching in the surrounding areas: Van Wert, Paulding, and Defiance. Although I was searching online the other night and ran across a job opening up in Oregon, Oh. (it's up by Toledo) for an LPN in the emergency department, which just so happens to be what I'm looking for. So I think I'm going to apply for that. And if I got that job my plans of living at home in the basement will be thrown out the window... anyways that's where I'm at right now.

What else is going on? hmmm....

Well my brother is getting married this weekend, which means lots of family, friends and good times. And Kristi is going to be my date...to the prom! hahahaha, just kidding, there is no prom, but she is going to be my date. Weddings are always better when your best friend is there ;) Love you peeper!

Ok enough about weddings. I was reading in Genesis this morning and I saw that it was good. haha, get it!? sorry lame joke. anyways I was really getting into it. I realized that they really simplify the stories for us in Sunday school. I was like, "hey I didn't realize that!" Seriously I didn't know that there were more clean beasts on the ark than unclean. I thought there were only 2 of each animal, male and female. I was enlightened. Anyways I probably sound like an idiot. Another thing I wondered about was why God didn't respect Cain's offering. I mean it wasn't like Cain was offering up his rotten crop, it was his best. Maybe someone can explain this to me.

I passed

Most of you already know this but for those of you who didn't know... I finally graduated college. Good job me. Now I just have to take and pass boards, find a job, and get a puppy. Yay, puppies!

So I really don't have much to blog about right now. Actually I just don't want to...and you can't make me. But I will say this "Get Fuzzy" is the best comic strip EVER! True story. Anyways I promise I'll blog soon...ish.

What's Happening

I got a B on my test on Monday! Good job me for studying my butt off. Actually, I did study a lot for this test but I think what helped me more than my own smarts was a little divine intervention. Seriously God is the bomb! I don't know where I'd be without Him.

So now I just have 1 more test and my Final which all goes down next week and if all goes well, my Pinning Ceremony on Friday, Dec. 15th. YAY! And then, I'll have to start looking for a job and studying for boards. Yippy-skippy.

Oh and let's not forget hanging out with Kristi for what we call a celebration of her birth and then the next day driving to Florida with her family (my second family) for the holidays. And we are totally gonna get tan. Booyah!

It's been a LONG time...

um...hey guys.

I know most people could care less if i blog or not, but for the 2 people who do (Kristi & Dave), I'm sorry. I'm blogging at work again b/c i'm trying to avoid doing my homework...wrap your head around that math...since there is no math. But there is math on my tests, which I've been doing rather poorly on. Lame. I have 2 more tests and my final and just 2 more weeks to go before I graduate...I WILL GRADUATE! I pretty much have to b/c if I don't my life will be ruined. Well pretty close anyways.

I'm not sure what to blog about, I don't have an exciting lifestyle nor do crazy things happen to me. which I guess is kind of a good thing???? I don't know.

Oh. I learned how to play a new card game, which no one else I know knows how to play, I mean besides the people who taught me. Anyways it's called Hand and Foot and its blame near awesome. I would teach it to my friends but I don't know how, so if ya'll could learn on your own that would be super.

Yaddy-yaddy-yadda, blahdy-blahdy-blahda, it's almost december and I'm almost done with school! Yay! Now I have to get back to work so I can read about gastrointestinal disorders. Now that's what I call a good time! anyways

Paper Cuts

Paper Cuts are bad. But do you know what makes them worse? Deep paper cuts underneath your pinky fingernail. *sigh* As you might have guessed I gave myself one of these earlier today and now it feels like my whole pinky finger is on fire.

I actually wrote the above paragraph a few days ago...well actually more like a week ago. Wow, time goes by fast.

So my parents and one of my brothers have been in Arizona all week, leaving me at home to do all the household duties, which pretty much consists of picking up after myself. I also picked the raspberries and a couple tomatoes. I don't have much of a green thumb like my mom. Here's what I don't get. If I were to get a dog, they (my parents) would throw a fit if i wanted to go away for the week and have them dog sit when here I am taking care of their plants all week. Tell me how that makes sense. If you haven't noticed I'm on my dog kick again. I went to the pet store today after clinicals to get a good dose of puppy love to calm my nerves. Seriously puppies make me happy. Especially the puppy I held today. He was a little Jack Russel and he is so stinkin' cute! ughhh! I wanted to bring him home today so bad and I probably would have if I had a steady source of income. But a'las i do not. This whole working PRN thing doesn't guarantee much income at all. My check for last pay period, which is a 2 week pay period, isn't even enough to make a car payment. That's kinda sad. Ya know what else is sad? That fact that I'm going to be deprived of sleep this weekend. True story. In fact, it's already begun. Not to mention the 2 tests that are coming up on Mon. and Wed. FUN, FUN for EVERYONE! Yay!

Blahdy-blah this, blahdy-blah that, throw in La Bomba and we've got ourselves a party.

Why? Let me explain.

Here are some reasons why I haven't blogged in the awhile:

1. The internet service at our house sucked so dad cancelled it. Good call dad.

2. I started school back up like a month ago. And I'm actually using most of my time studying. Good call Me.

3. My life is no more exciting than yours, but when it is I'll tell you all about it.

That pretty much wraps it up.
